Chairman’s Reception

November 2011

On Friday evening the Parish Council invited over 100 members of the public – representatives of the institutions and charities that help form the community of Colehill – to the Chairman’s Reception with buffet.  This annual event is our way of thanking the headteachers and governors of the schools, the leaders of the churches, the youth groups, the charities, the crossing patrol attendants, the librarians and others and is also a good forum for putting faces to names of who’s who in the village and discussing some local issues.

Representatives of the bordering communities of Wimborne, Holt, Verwood, Corfe Mullen and Verwood – with whom the Parish Council share some common concerns, interests and resources – were invited and the vice-chairman of East Dorset Districct Council was also present.

Cllr. Dave Mitchell, Chairman of the Parish Council, gave short speech and the entertainment was provided by Colehill Girlguides and a group of Colehill Eagle Scouts sang a selection of campfire songs from the stage.  Mrs. Barbara Gooch gave an announcement about a fund-rasing event for the Reef rebuilding appeal.  The catering was provided by the Colehill Evening W.I.

Here is a gallery of photographs from the event:
