Work is about to start on the production of a Neighbourhood Plan for our parish.
A Neighbourhood Plan allows our community to decide on the planning policies we want for our area. Once approved it will have legal force, and will sit alongside the Dorset Council Local Plan to direct decisions on planning applications. It will lay out a vision for how we want Colehill to develop over the next 10 to 20 years to meet our local needs: it can set policies for the location and design of houses, environmental standards that must be met, and associated infrastructure that will be supported.
Although initiated by Colehill Parish Council, the Neighbourhood Plan can only be delivered with support from across the community. We will be seeking input from everyone who lives or works in Colehill to help us identify and shape the policies we need.
