From Monday 14 November 2016, East Dorset District Council will operate services from
Allenview House (same building as Teachers building society) in Wimborne town centre.
The new address is: Allenview House, Hanham Road, BH21 1AG
The telephone number will stay the same: 01202 795096.
Earlier this year, East Dorset District councillors agreed to move its offices from the Furzehill
site to premises in Allenview House. This forms part of wider Partnership plans to base the
majority of its staff at Christchurch Civic Offices.
The new East Dorset base will continue to provide walk-in customer support and will be more
accessible by public transport and on foot.
East Dorset District Councillor Ray Bryan, portfolio holder for performance, said: “The new
premises will reduce accommodation costs and support the continued provision of vital
services. We will continue to provide great service for walk-in customers. Customers should
remember that they can now access many of our services online including benefits, council
tax, and parking permits via the Dorsetforyou.gov.uk website.”
The Furzehill site will close to staff and customers on Friday 11 November 2016.
Civic meetings, including full council and cabinet meetings, will continue to be held at Furzehill
until May 2017. From then on they will then take place in the Quarterjack suite at Allendale
Community Centre.
