Dorset Council are currently conducting a “Community Governance Review”, which among other things will look at whether any changes are required to parish boundaries and wards.
Colehill Parish Council have resolved to submit the following two suggestions for consideration:
- To seek to unite the two parts of Furzehill, by adjusting the parish boundary that currently runs along Smugglers Lane and Grange. We believe that moving the whole of Furzehill into Colehill Parish will help improve community identity for Furzehill and make it easier for us to invest in additional facilities for Furzehill going forward.
- To seek to combine the existing three Colehill parish wards into one. This will simplify our administration, particularly for parish councillor elections, and will have no other impact on our operation.

Dorset Council are due to publish their draft recommendations on 20th Dec 21. They will then hold a public consultation which will be open until 28th Feb 22.
