Elections 2024

General Election 2024

The General Election has been called for 4th July. Notice of election – UKPGE General Election – Mid Dorset and North Poole Constituency – 4 July 2024. To vote you will need to be registered which you can do via Dorset Council elections team. Local Elections took place on Thursday 2 May 2024.

The following elections took place in May 2024:

  • Dorset Council election for 82 member seats Notice of election – Dorset Council – 2 May 2024 There will be an election for the two seats covering Colehill & Wimborne Minster East as there are more candidates/nominations than seats.  Statement of Persons Nominated for Colehill and Wimborne Minster East
  • Elections for all 150+ parish and town councils across the Dorset Council area – some 1500 seats. Colehill Ward and Colehill Hayes Ward have both been published as ‘Non-contested’ (less candidates/nominations than seats) so there will not be elections for Colehill Parish Council – see details of the nominations here –  Notice of election – Parish and town areas – 2 May 2024 Statement of Persons Nominated for Colehill Parish – Colehill Ward Statement of Persons Nominated for Colehill Parish – Colehill Hayes Ward and the Notice of Uncontested Election dated 8th April 2024 here –Parish and town councils within the Dorset Council area – elections on 2 May 2024 (uncontested) – Dorset Council
  • Colehill Parish Council is not political nor affiliated with or does not endorse any political party – it exists solely to serve it’s residents without party political agenda. 
  • Five-year term of office 2024-2029 (then returning to 4-year cycle)
  • Changes to some parish boundaries and town/parish wards following the Community Governance Reviews (the bulk of Furzehill previously part of Colehill will move to within the Parish of Holt)
